Exactly what I needed. Easy install on 2010 Ford Escape.
By David R. Peringer
I got fed up constantly having to stop the car to adjust ropes and bungees so the soft cartop cargo bag wouldn't flop around and damage the roof of the car. Bought this after viewing a video review that made it look sturdy. Arrived in great shape along with the Yakima Universal Mighty Mounts that are needed to clamp it to the factory luggage rack crossbars. If you read the directions that come with the Mighty Mounts you will have no trouble fitting the Basketcase to your 2010 Ford Escape factory luggage rack with factory crossbars. I suggest measuring the distance from the center of the front crossbar to the center of the rear crossbar before assembling the Mighty Mounts to the Basketcase. If you do that ahead of time you can just set the rack with the mounts attached right over on top of the crossbars, tighten them up and you're ready to go. The Basketcase is welded wire with a vinyl coating and is very sturdy. It is so sturdy it would be easy to overload your crossbars. The Basketcase weighs 15 lbs. so in my case I'm limited to 85 lbs. of cargo. The carrier could easily hold more. Very pleased with the purchases.

Fantastic, flexible storage
By Eric W
I got this for a slightly different use to put above the cargo area in my Jeep Scrambler, but it's used as a rack all the same, mounted to two Yakima bars as it would be on a roof.

I got this because I needed a compact rack and liked the fact that it had low sides and a "tight grid" formed by the spacing of the bars. The way I use it is to carry all sorts of things from toolboxes, to luggage, to camping equipment, to wood, to folding chairs, etc., basically anything and everything. This rack is IDEAL for this use because I just store a ton of bungee cords on the outside edges of the rack so I can quickly and easily secure anything of any size. There's always a handy spot to hook the bungee and I've even mounted things to the underside (tire iron) that I need stored securely, but out of the way--saving other space for easier access items.

My Scrambler is heavily modified, but for outright functionality, adding this rack is the single best mod I've done. I have no idea how I got by without it!!

The coating is thick and durable and hasn't come off in any of my heavy use this summer since I put it in. It's plenty strong for holding anything and still fairly light. I can't say anything negative, nothing comes to mind.

Love it!

Great Low Profile Basket for the Nissan Xterra
By Santa Fe Ranger
I just installed this basket on the roof of my 2012 Nissan Xterra Pro-4X. The Xterra has the oval crossbars. I used the Mighty Mount 28H kit (also from Amazon). Easy install. Nice low profile basket. I installed it so the long dimension runs from front to back along the Xterra's roof line. Be sure to install the basket on top of the Mighty Mounts so that the mounting points on the basket are on top of the Mighty Mount rubber oval; that way you get a solid, secure install and the basket's metal rails don't come in contact the Xterra's crossbars themselves. Very pleased with how everything seemed to work just right.
